Join us in thanking the nation's corn growers for meeting the food, feed and fuel needs of our county.
Our nation's corn growers have been hard at work this year, harvesting the largest corn crop in history. Farmers stepped up to ensure America's consuers would have enough corn to provide an abundance of food for our families, feed for livestock and cleaner burning, renewable fuel for our nation.
In fact, efficiencies and advances in farming practices have allowed a farmer to increase the number of people he feeds from just 19 in 1940 to 144 people today. They've been able to accomplish this while lessening their environmental footprint through smart sustainability practices and lessen our nation's dependence on petroleum through ethanol production.
